Gastrointestinal disease is common in clinical practice, ranking year after year among the top complaints that clients seek veterinary care for. In this presentation we'll tackle the question of what to feed patients that are experiencing gastrointestinal upset by reviewing the functional role of nutrients in the gastrointestinal tract, defining a “bland diet”, and discussing nutritional management principles for commonly encountered gastrointestinal disorders.
