Dr. Kate An Hunter graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 after a career as a research chemist. In 1996, she opened Carver Lake Veterinary Center in Woodbury. This small animal practice is AAHA accredited and provide primary care for a wide variety of companion animals. Both at Carver Lake Veterinary Center and in her personal life, she has dedicated herself to sharing with others what can be accomplished when humans and animals work together. For over 35+ years, she has trained and competed with her dogs in obedience, agility, nosework rally, and musical freestyle. She volunteered with her horse for the Dakota County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol for 12 years, working in search and rescue, security, and public relations. She has served on numerous boards including as President of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association. She now works for Trupanion to educate veterinarians and clients on the benefits of medical insurance for pets.
