Royal Canin Live - Introduction to Feline Ultrasound: Probing For Answers in the Older Vomiting Cat (Part 1)

This course will cover using ultrasound to diagnose the underlying causes of vomiting in the older cat, focusing on chronic enteropathies and neoplasia. We will discuss the importance of a complete workup for chronically vomiting cats, including the importance of obtaining a detailed patient history. Attendees will learn when to choose abdominal ultrasound v. abdominal radiographs for diagnostic imaging, and we will briefly review the basic approach to performing feline abdominal ultrasound. The normal ultrasonographic appearance of the abdominal organs will be reviewed, followed by review of common feline disease processes affecting older cats, including inflammatory bowel disease, small cell lymphoma, large cell lymphoma, and feline sclerosing eosinophilic fibroplasia.
