Key Responsibilities

  • Help veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
  • Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.

  • Collect patient histories and obtain vital signs
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgical procedures, and dental cleanings.
  • To be able to collect blood, stool, and other samples to be performed in-house laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
  • Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean and stocked.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
  • Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Be ready for anything at all times.
