“Well, it seems that I have to sleep now. Cancer has gotten the best of me and made it hard to eat, breathe and has started getting to my brain. Dad, mom, grandma, grandpa and I have agreed that it’s time to start my next journey. I have had a good life with a lot of love in it. I have crossed the United States twice, has 3 surgeries, visited 7 National Parks, 5 National Monuments, been inside the Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian, the National Mall, slept on Teddy Roosevelt’s couch at the Willard Hotel, and spent so much time with those I loved. My Dad loved me from when he got me at 8 weeks. My mom from the moment she met me. Dad evidently creeped her out by inviting her in to meet me before their first date. But after she met me, she understood why. We spent so many days going to the parks, sniffing flowers and other dogs at the park and cuddling. I had a wonderful sister Callie that was and I loved her from the second I met her. She and I were best friends and I’ll dream about her. Sis, I’ll be waiting for you when your time comes. I’m ready to go play in the clouds. I love you all and thank you for so much joy.
“Sofna upp frá þessu, sofna heðan, sofna” – Fall asleep from this, let sleep take you away from here, fall asleep.”
Bruxie is remembered by his family and loving companion, Devon.
